GRID 2 is a pure arcade racer to the core, fun if you like that kinda thing maybe, though it's even a bad game to be honest as you spend most of your time driving on the same 5-6 circuits through streets/forest roads and the real world circuits are locked behind on-disc dlc and pre-order exclusives (brands hatch). You can brake at the distance in a road car that would make you think you're driving a modern Formula 1 car. Powersliding around corners at 120 mph in a 1960's Mustang through a street circuit has nothing to do with reality. Let me just say that it is in every way the arcade game.

Speaking of GRID 2, I was playing it last week on the PS3 and me and a mate spent the whole night playing it with some beers. If you're a fan of GRID and you're looking for more like that then you won't find it here. The driving simulation is arguably the finest out there tho. Not sure what the Assetto Corsa Career mode will be like yet, they haven't released it. Project Cars is a simulator with the best visuals I've ever seen in a game, Assetto Corsa has better physics in my opinion though, Game Stock Car is a simulator based on the Brazillian Stock Car racing series, it uses the Rfactor physics/graphics engine and is basically a pure simulator, amazing physics though. Neither are even close to a simulation though, the handling physics are very unrealistic.

GRID series are not simulations, the fact that they encourage you to drift to go faster should be obvious there! The first GRID was more of a motorsport enthusiast game where as GRID 2 is game based around having twitter fans and using words like "Swag", it's a powersliding teenagers game. :-) If money is an issue, just purchase them in the order that suits what you want to do the most right now (MP.

With all that said, I would suggest all of the above.

Do yourself a favor and google 'gsc 2013 review' for some video reviews. The complete game can be downloaded and tried for 60 min free of charge.

It has a large mod base, so there are plenty of additional tracks and other mods available. GSC has formula, stock, mini coopers, and go karts. The types of cars available are different than what you will get with the other two sims, so it really comes down to your tastes. If you want a complete sim *right now*, that includes a career & multiplayer, I would suggest Game Stock Car 2013 while you wait for the others to mature. Obviously those other options will be available in the future, so it could be looked at as more of an investment that will pay off with each update.

If multiplayer and single player with AI cars is not a priority for you right now, Assetto Corsa is certainly a valid option. It still has yet to be determined if/when the rest of the world will be allowed to join in on the pre-alpha/alpha/beta before actual launch. Obviously Project Cars is not an option if you were not already involved with it, but wish to actually play it *now*. GSC 2013 *is* a sim, and it is quite outstanding.Īs for which one to choose between those three, it would depend on your expectations at this moment in time. Gwar2005, since it sounds like you are looking to select between actual simulations, I would remove Grid 2 from the list and replace it with Game Stock Car 2013.
